Who are you, in a few sentences?

My name is Jara, I'm 28 years old and I live in Utrecht. I absolutely love animals and enjoy reading, walking, doing yoga, and being creative. Within the team, I'm known as the cake lover—I love baking them, but I love eating them even more.

What is your role within FutureWork, and what exactly does it entail?

At FutureWork, I work as a junior consultant. In this role, I help companies find suitable candidates for open positions, specifically within the target group of asylum seekers and refugees. Once someone starts work, I provide on-the-job guidance and remain their primary point of contact.

What makes this work important to you?

I believe it's important that people with refugee backgrounds also have equal opportunities in the job market. This group is unfortunately often overlooked, even though they are incredibly motivated to get started and develop themselves. I believe they have just as much potential as anyone else, and I'm happy to help make that visible.

What do you want to mean within FutureWork – for yourself, for others or for the organization as a whole?

At FutureWork, I want to contribute to an inclusive labor market where everyone gets a fair chance. I want to show employers that people with refugee backgrounds are valuable employees. At the same time, I want to give newcomers the feeling that they're not alone and that they're seen and supported. By connecting and mentoring people, I hope to make a difference for candidates, companies, and society.

What employers say about us

"FutureWork took a significant burden off our hands through screening, guidance and knowledge sharing. My advice: just go for it and let yourself be guided. They provide tremendous support, and then you see that you can easily bring a new target group into your workplace."
