Who are you, in a few sentences?

My name is Wietse and I've been working at FutureWork since February 2025. After completing a bachelor's degree in International Relations in Groningen, I traveled across Europe for my masters: Migration Studies in Copenhagen and European Studies in Maastricht, and I also lived briefly in Brussels and Stockholm in between. Outside of work, you'll often find me running or cycling — and if I can sit still, it's usually with a good book. I get energy from connecting with people, whether that's in my work or outside of it.

What is your role within FutureWork, and what exactly does it entail?

As a consultant, I bridge the gap between employers and newcomers, from finding the right match to answering all their questions. I also go out—either alone or with my colleague Frank—to encourage companies to work with newcomers.

What makes this work important to you?

For me, work is the place where people can showcase their strengths. This not only addresses labor shortages but also fosters greater understanding and openness. Being able to contribute to this personally is always incredibly rewarding.

What do you want to mean within FutureWork – for yourself, for others or for the organization as a whole?

I want to be a trusted point of contact for both businesses and newcomers. I create a place where everyone can be themselves, and together we ensure that people confidently take their first steps in a new society.

What employers say about us

"FutureWork took a significant burden off our hands through screening, guidance and knowledge sharing. My advice: just go for it and let yourself be guided. They provide tremendous support, and then you see that you can easily bring a new target group into your workplace."
